When curiosity about human movement becomes scientific innovation
Whether it is hitting a 100mph fastball, playing a musical instrument or relearning to walk following a stroke, we at the Sherbrooke NeuroCTRL lab are fascinated by how humans can get so good at producing skilled movements.
Research in the lab focuses on how the brain executes and learns motor skills. We study the neural activity that subtends movement preparation and execution, and how it relates to behaviour. We also study how sensorimotor circuits reorganize over the course of learning, with the intention of identifying means to optimize retention.
